2019 in Review: Our Annual Highlights, and Plans for the Year Ahead

We have now officially been in our new office for a year, and so much has changed in those short twelve months.

We Dedicated Ourselves to Reducing Our Carbon Footprint

Back in June, we revealed our master plans for becoming more eco-conscious in our blog post: CBS is Going Green: Read All About Our Eco Efforts.

Since this, we have continued to implement changes, one of the most successful being our new electronic process for managing disclosure results for Disclosure Scotland. Not only has this dramatically cut down on the amount of paper we use, but it has improved our completion times by 200%!

We’ve Celebrated Our Successes

From our grand opening in March to our new tradition of a summer party, we have not only worked hard but played hard and celebrated our successes together.

These events have provided a great opportunity to thank the CBS team for their hard work and efforts, but to involve our biggest supporters, our families, in the fun too.

We’ve Been Audited

At CBS, we take both security and efficiency very seriously, and we ensure we are audited and accredited so we can offer our clients the best possible service.

In March, we received Silver Status Accreditation from the NSI for our BS7858 services, and were audited this summer and passed our annual audit with flying colours!

We’re pleased to say our MapItandGo systems were also audited earlier this summer for ISO 22301 and ISO 27001, and we passed and retained our accreditations in data processing and business continuity and contingency planning.

Lastly, in August, CBS became a member of NAPBS – a non-profit trade association which keeps screening standards up and ensures a high level of ethics is maintained. Joining the NAPBS means insights for us and improved standards for our customers.

A Few Other Key Happenings:

  • We introduced Doris – our ’Think Pod’
  • Sarah Lloyd was promoted to Operations Manager
  • We welcomed a new baby called Annie, and a new puppy called Bertie
  • We took on four new starters – two in our referencing team, and two as Key Account Managers
  • We did a half marathon and IronMan
  • We supported multiple local charities, including Age Morgannwg, as well as donating Christmas Gifts to the Local Young Carers Group.
  • Our CEO became the Patron of I Am Woman Dragons.

Our Plans for the Year Ahead

In 2020, we have big plans for further growth and expansion. We’re looking to take on two new starters in the first quarter and a further four as the months go on. Two of our team are also expecting!

The refurbishment of our office will continue, and we hope to be fully carbon neutral very soon.

But, before all of this, it’s Christmas! So, we would like to send warm wishes to all and a very happy new year!
