How Much Does a DBS Check Cost?

So, you know you will have to run DBS checks on prospective employees and ensure that all existing disclosures are current using the Update Service, but how much does a DBS check cost?

Well, there’s no need to go trawling through the internet to find out. Here we provide you with a comprehensive list of example vetting and DBS check costs for services that we offer at CBS.

DBS Check Costs

Want online DBS checks? Here’s what the three main types will cost you:

Basic Disclosure: £25.00
Standard Disclosure: £26.00
Enhanced Disclosure: £44.00

DBS Disclosures for Volunteers: Only admin fee, which is £2 – £13 depending on which check is required.

We also offer our customers the option to regularly check an individual’s criminal history. This means if any convictions, cautions, warnings or reprimands are issued our system will be alerted, helping you to maintain a high level of security within your firm.

These checks are portable and individuals are able to use these certificates for other positions without the need to renew.

For this comprehensive criminal check we charge:

Registration only: £3.00
Registration and quarterly checks: £5.00
Registration and monthly checks: £6.00
Registration and weekly checks: £10.00

Please note: DBS fees are exempt of VAT, or services are +VAT.

The Price of International Criminal Background Checks

If a job applicant has moved to the UK recently or has spent some time working abroad, then you may be required to carry out international criminal checks. But don’t worry, there’ll be no expensive phone calls. We can do this for you!

Within the decade we have worked in the screening industry, we have built up a number of partnerships with overseas organisations who can provide us with prompt and reliable information from pretty much anywhere across the world. The Cost of Bulk DBS Applications

If you require handling of dozens or even hundreds of background checks a year, we can help. We can offer discounts for bulk applications or for high volume cases, there is our online E-Bulk management system. This purpose-built system allows you to submit and manage multiple applications that will reduce your admin time and costs considerably.

Payment Options

Here at CBS we don’t believe in tying in customers to long-term contracts with monthly payments, instead we offer a pay-as-you-go scheme, so you’ll only be charged for what you get.

However, we do have a small administration cost for processing your disclosures, which are subject to VAT. These can cost up to £13, depending on the check and volume, and will be charged on top of the disclosure price.
