CBS took part in the annual Wales Air Ambulance “Walk Wales – 50 Miles in June” virtual challenge, where participants of all ages are asked to take on 50 miles in June.
“The beauty of the “Walk Wales – 50 Miles in June” challenge is that you can take part anywhere, anytime, it’s also great for your physical and mental wellbeing.”
Whether you walk, run, jog, or complete the 50 miles distance at home, you will be helping to keep our helicopters in the air and our rapid response vehicles on the ground,” said a representative from Wales Air Ambulance.
A number of CBS staff kick started their challenge by walking Pen y Fan on the 2nd June, whilst others took part in long walks on the weekends and, weather permitting, walking during their lunch breaks.
Every week we updated our challenge board using walking apps Fitbits, Apple watches etc and, at the end of the month, an astonishing total of 836.46 miles were walked!
Everyone who took part in the challenge stated how enjoyable it had been, but there can be only one winner!
Leah Powell, our resident “fitness fanatic” won overall with an amazing 156.9 miles! Well done Leah!
