Employment is on the rise!

Despite the difficult times, many businesses have endured since the beginning of the pandemic last year, it seems that signs of better times to come are on the horizon. Businesses in the UK are feeling optimistic and are looking to fill new job requirements in 2021.

A study completed by human resources body, the CIPD, have found that about 56% of businesses surveyed are planning to hire in 2021! This is great news! It also shows that the sectors with the biggest intentions of expanding their workforces in 2021 are healthcare, finance, insurance, education and ICT. The healthcare sector is storming ahead, as 89% of their recruiters are planning to hire throughout this year.

The survey also discovered that the number of firms and businesses that are planning to make redundancies during the first quarter of 2021 have dropped to 20% from 30%. No one wants to hear about redundancies, but considering the whirlwind that has been 2020 for most businesses, this is a great statistic to hear!
