These are extraordinary times. With the growing outbreak of COVID-19, businesses are facing all kinds of new challenges and pressures. Nobody really understands what is happening right now; not even the experts. It’s unprecedented. But we do know that we will adapt and we will get through this. Together.
As businesses come under increasing pressure, exacerbated by staff shortages due to illness, it will be important to adapt, work flexibly and provide assistance across all sectors and communities in whatever way we can. This may include recruiting, retraining and redeploying staff into different roles.
Whilst appreciating the urgency in employing and redeploying volunteers and staff to assist with helping the vulnerable, our commitment remains to ensuring this is handled in a safe manner. We accept the need to maintain Government laws on ID checking guidelines, but recognise this could delay important help reaching those people in desperate need.

Our company is currently inundated with individuals needing priority DBS checks in order to support COVID-19. Previously this has been unavailable. However, CBS has a process designed and approved by the DBS to fast track clearance.
We will work with you to create a swift and robust process that allows you to pass the administrative burden to CBS while retaining your own vigorous safeguarding processes. This results in the redeployment of key workers to assist with the vulnerable, whilst also honouring the essential laws to protect this group.
We are already working closely with a number of Local Authorities and Charities to help facilitate this challenge, by offering a managed, end to end solution to fast track DBS checks. We would like to offer this to your organisation also.

BS7858 Security Screening is Being Updated, What’s Changing?
BS7858 was last updated in 2012 so, this year, the British Standards Institution is releasing a refresh: BS7858:2019. This update was made in September 2019, but the 2012 standard won’t be fully-withdrawn until 31st March 2020. Despite this, here at CBS, we’ve already made the upgrade.
